Jill Banting holds a Masters of Applied Arts degree from Emily Carr University. She has over twenty years combined experience in the visual arts, community engagement and arts-based community development. She is trained in visual facilitation and certified in the Shift-IT Visual Coaching Process®.
As a Graphic Recorder, Jill translates dialogue into visual images. Her illustrations assist people to find key themes during a group process, leading to greater clarity and alignment. Graphic recording is used to enhance visual communication and engagement within teams or with broader audiences.
Jill lives on the traditional territories of the Ligwiłda’xw people; the We Wai Kai, Wei Wai Kum and Kwiakah First Nations. She practices deep listening and values connected ways of knowing, seeking to understand other people's ideas and points of view. Her practice emphasizes the fundamental value of each person’s experience and relevance of context and place.
